General Information

St. Joseph Parish is a welcoming family comprised of people of diverse cultures who travel from various areas of Greater New Orleans to celebrate at this, their parish of choice. We are a family of believers who gather weekly (and daily) to worship our God and are strengthened by sharing each other’s stories, joys, and sorrows. We are a small community and know each other well. Yet, we make every effort to be a place where all are welcomed, invited and encouraged to participate in the life of the parish at their own level of comfort. Our small numbers help us to be completely inclusive as we enjoy seeing our parish family grow. Being a welcoming parish that extends hospitality is one of our hallmarks and we take pride in this gift.

A second characteristic for which we strive is to provide first-rate liturgy. Our people, who serve as Lectors, Commentators, Altar Servers,Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Choir Members, Ushers, and Ministers of Hospitality, are well trained and perform their tasks with love and reverence. Our priests are committed to delivering homilies that speak to the scripture readings and to the convergence of those scripture readings with situations found in every day Christian life.

St. Joseph Church provides a place to belong and countless opportunities to all to become involved in both the ministries of liturgy, prayer, and the ministry of volunteerism through our outreach programs.

Thank you for visiting our website. We hope this information has helped you become better acquainted with our parish. We invite you to join us for a Sunday liturgy and experience our warm welcome and unique sense of parish family.
